By Gilbert Simaanzi in Choma District, Southern Province – Rainbow Newspaper Zambia Limited
STATE Land Ward Councilor of Choma District of the Southern Province Donald Chilundika says his people are currently undergoing hard times manifested by lack of water due to climate change.
Mr. Chilundika laments that development and economic survival is increasingly compromised due to water access challenges as a result of climate change.
The Civic Leader says tagged inadequate access to water for both human and animal consumption as a major threat to sustainable development.
Chilundika described the water blues situation as serious, and prayed for intervention by presumptive Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection Minister Jonas Kamima Chanda and the Southern Water and Sewerage Company (SWASCO).
Councilor Chilundika appealed to government through Mr. Chanda, a Patriotic Front (PF) Bwana Mkumbwa Member of Parliament (MP) in Ndola, Copperbelt Province to facilitate drilling of boreholes.
“Drilling of boreholes in the ward is one way of making the commodity accessible to all people ” prayed Chilundika in an interview.
