NATIONAL Restoration Party (NAREP) has learnt with deep sadness of the accident that happened at the Kavalamanja area in Luangwa area on Sunday evening involving some members of the United Party for National Development (UPND) campaign team.
Reports indicate that nine people have lost their lives while a number are seriously injured. Our deepest condolences go to the leadership of the UPND and the families that have lost their loved ones, we also pray for the recovery of those that have been injured in this accident.
NAREP National Secretary Reverend Jevan Kamanga expressed regret over the increased road traffic accidents in Zambia which continue to claim innocent lives and loss of property.
“This continuous loss of lives on our roads is very unfortunate. Any loss of life is painful; however this particular case is more disheartening as it has been caused by the unnecessary by election in Feira. This by election has caused multitudes of cadres from different political parties to gather in Luangwa. This coupled with the poor state of our road infrastructure is a recipe for disaster,” Reverend Kamanga cried.
Speaking on behalf of NAREP President Elias Chipimo Junior (ECJ), Reverend Kamanga urged the Patriotic Front (PF) administration to examine their conscience and ask them themselves what really mattered to the people of Zambia.
“As a party that came into power based on the promises it made to people, the Patriotic Front should be ashamed that their main focus has now shifted to amassing numbers in Parliament at the expense of the millions of Zambians who cannot put food on the table. May the souls of the departed rest in peace,” Rev. Jevan Kamanga, NAREP National Secretary argued.
