Sub: FRA K110/50 kg Maize Price

WE would like to submit that this current Government through FRA has once again disappointed farmers in Eastern Province by tagging a 50 kg bag of Maize K110.

This government does not have the interest of farmers at heart. They have no time to look at the cost of production and the time taken to produce crops.

President Harry Kalaba is very shocked and disturbed to see farmers in the country being exploited without shame by this Government of President Edgar Lungu.

Farmers deserve respect and decency by getting a better deal especially from FRA being a government agency.

The price of K110 does not reflect the cost of labour, farming inputs and the period taken for produce to mature.

We call on our farmers in Eastern Province to use their harvest wisely by selling to the best bidders or consider exporting to earn enough money to pay school fees for their children since we have a careless government.

As DP Eastern Province we call on PF Leadership to reconsider the maize price with an increment.

But we know that they want to export maize to DRC the deal they closed last year and get benefits as middlemen instead of the farmer that they are willing to exploit by all means without shame.

Citizens let us pay attention to the evils that this PF Government is doing on her own citizens and let us reward them accordingly by voting them out because they cannot change.
