Mature and Contemporary Gospel musician Leonard Chimbalanga has urged youths to take time pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ to lift them up to their dreams and aspirations, hence his album entitled “Munjimye”, translated “Lift me up God”.
The gentle and crispy voiced gospel musician who sometimes sings is in a duet with his wife Miriam Sakala , popularly known as Leonard still working on a new project said that youths in the these modern times should be listening to music that will build a firm foundation in their lives.
Leonard who is a staunch supporter of Zanaco football club of the Zambian High flight Super league and Arsenal football club in England said that youths who are in majority and busy looking for jobs and struggling to be recognized in society should put God first .Leonard who is a sales representative at the City Center Supplies In Lusaka town was inspired by a Zambian musician nick named “Son of Africa” Ephraim and another Zambian artist called Jojo Mwangaza has implored youths to try engaging in sports activities and performing arts to avoid abusing alcohol and elicit sex .
The gentle spoken musician and father of four children has been married for 14 years and hopes to inspire the future generation with reality spirit filled music that will help them put what they hear in his to practice.
Leonard also produced “Alapanga Inshila”, a Zambian Bemba dialect literally translated as “God makes a way”, “Emonshintilila” interpreted as “Where I lean on” , “Naisakulimwe” deciphered “Here I come to you” and “Tetinondolole” decoded as “God is too huge explain”.
Leonard got head over heels in love with music when he was in a school choir at Twatasha primary in Chingola on the Copper belt and the passion grow when he moved on to Chingola High School where he completed his grade school.
