January 19, 2025 To the attention of: – the international community: ECOWAS, African Union, UN – and the National Rally for Development Committee (CNRD), Subject: the critical situation of Dr. Ibrahima Kassory Fofana We are sending you this urgent message concerning the critical situation of Dr. Ibrahima Kassory Fofana, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea, currently detained and hospitalized in an alarming state of health. Current situation Dr. Kassory Fofana is in an extremely worrying state of health, requiring specialized medical care that local infrastructures cannot fully provide. Despite his critical condition, he is forced to respond to judicial interrogations from his hospital bed, which seriously compromises his health and recovery. Call for Action We urge: 1. The immediate and provisional release of Dr. Kassory Fofana for humanitarian and medical reasons. 2. Authorization for medical evacuation to an appropriate medical center abroad, in accordance with the recommendations of doctors. 3. The temporary suspension of all legal proceedings concerning him until his health condition stabilizes. Justifications • Respect for human rights: The right to health and medical care is fundamental and must be guaranteed, even in the context of legal proceedings. • Prevention of a tragedy: The recent case of the late Mr. Lonceny Camara, who died in similar circumstances, underlines the urgency of action to avoid another tragic incident. • Humanitarian commitment: This action would demonstrate the commitment of Guinea and the international community to the principles of humanity and respect for the rights of all citizens.

Objet : la situation critique de Dr Ibrahima Kassory Fofana
Nous vous adressons ce message urgent concernant la situation critique de Dr Ibrahima Kassory Fofana, ancien Premier ministre de la République de Guinée, actuellement détenu et hospitalisé dans un état de santé alarmant.
Situation actuelle
Dr Kassory Fofana se trouve dans un état de santé extrêmement préoccupant, nécessitant des soins médicaux spécialisés que les infrastructures locales ne peuvent pleinement assurer. Malgré son état critique, il est contraint de répondre à des interrogatoires judiciaires depuis son lit d’hôpital, ce qui compromet gravement sa santé et son rétablissement.
Appel à l’action
Nous demandons instamment :
1. La libération immédiate et provisoire de Dr Kassory Fofana pour des raisons humanitaires et médicales.
2. L’autorisation d’une évacuation sanitaire vers un centre médical approprié à l’étranger, conformément aux recommandations des médecins.
