Seven Nominations for Zambian Series & Movies in the 9th Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards

IT’S OFFICIAL! The nominees of the 9th edition of the prestigious Africa magic viewer’s choice awards have been announced.
The nominees who were announced on Sunday, 15th April, 2023 by Bisola Aiyeola and Adjetey Anang, feature Zambian film productions, read a Press Release, circulated on Friday, 21st April 2023 by Chilufya Mwelwa, Head of Corporate Affairs at Multichoice Zambia.
The AMVCAs recognise and celebrate outstanding performances in African television and film across diverse genres.
Out of the announced categories, ten (10) are open to public votes, while others will be decided by the AMVCA panel of judges headed by veteran Filmmaker, Femi Odugbemi.
Notable Zambian productions that have been nominated and are in the public votes categories include, Best Movie – Southern – Silverlining by Emmanuel Mwape, Njila – Best original drama series, Uncle Limbani – Best original comedy, King Bugar – Best unscripted original and Mpali – Best original telenovela.
In addition, there are two Zambian productions in the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) category, but these are not open to voting. The productions are, A Quiet Intruder and Strings.
Under the Best Movie Southern Africa Category, Silverlining production which was nominated was done by Emmanuel Mwape, a Multichoice Talent Factory (MTF) alumnus, who has also worked on Uncle Limbani.

The ninth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is proudly brought to viewers by Africa Magic in association with MultiChoice and sponsored by Amstel Malta, and Zagg energy drink.
The edition is a three (3) day event with the award show scheduled for the Saturday, 20th of May, 2023 with a live broadcast across all Africa Magic Channels on DStv and GOtv. Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is an annual accolade presented by multichoice recognizing outstanding achievements in television and film production across Africa.
