The Provincial Minister added that the feasibility study would cover an integrated development plan for both the Lake Mweru Wantipa and the Lumangwe Water Falls complex covering the Mighty Lumangwe, Kabwelume and Kundabwika water falls in both Kaputa and Mporokoso districts.
The project to be undertaken by Power China would look at enhancing the water channel between Kalungwishi river and Lake Mweru Wantipa in which the lake would be deepened in some sections.
In order to sustain the livelihood of the people around the lake and the environment through the green development policy mode, Water purification and fish restocking would be part of the project while natural features would be enhanced for tourism purposes.
Mr. Mundubile says, purified water in the lake would enhance fishing activities as well as human habitation.

The design of the project is to combine the 1,500 square kilometre Lake Mweru Wantipa and Lumangwe Falls complex in an integrated development plan which would highlight the cultural aspect of the two areas for tourism and would also introduce a water park while endeavouring to keep the area as natural as possible with basic infrastructure such as resting places and park facilities among others.
Meanwhile, the Provincial! minister has disc!owed that Power China will be among the exhibitors at the Northern Province Tourism and Investment Expo from November 20 – 24 and is to also present the conceptual design.
