ZAMBIA’S most anticipated local derby explodes this Saturday 21st when Power Dynamos face Nkana in the week 31 of the MTN/FAZ super league. Live on the World of champions, this game dubbed the ‘El Kopala’ involving two of Zambia’s most decorated teams promises a potential tongue wagging fixture not to be missed.
Power who is seated on the 5th position of the log will host Neighbours and traditional rivals Nkana who are just a notch underneath.
The two sides separated by the Kitwe/Ndola dual carriage way will have everything to play for owing to the history that lies between them.
Either side would be confortable to drop points to another team in the league but not when they play each other. Only two points separate the two teams, Power has 51 points while Nkana has 49 and a win for either side would count for more than just points but also for prestige.
And on Sunday 22nd, the action moves to the Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium where Kabwe Warriors will host log leaders Green Buffaloes in another mouth-watering encounter.
In their quest to beat relegation, Warriors is expected to play tenaciously but the match will not be a walk in the park, as Buffaloes will also be looking to snatch a win and maintain their dominance on the log.
Warriors are still in the red zone of the log with 28 points while Buffaloes sit comfortably at the summit of the table with 56.
A loss for Warriors will keep them wallowing in the relegation zone while Buffaloes will have to be at their best to beat the wounded Kabwe side.
And on Tuesday 24th Supersport will broadcast Bola Yapa Zed with week 32 games between Zesco United face Power Dynamos coming at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Zesco come in this game with confidence after last week’s 1-0 win over Red Arrows and this fixture at home promises flare and skill. Occupying the 4th position of the log, Zesco has 52 points, one better than Power who are 5th place.
A win for Zesco will lift the Ndola outfit to second position with 55 points while Power will be tied at 54 points with Zanaco.
All this excitement only SS9 on the world of champions… Bola Yapa Zed just got better….
