RAINBOW Newspaper Zambia Limited took a bus into town, then reached Cairo Mall, and took a walk to Lottie House, found lifts not working and had to leap to sixth floor, then walked to Kabwe Roundabout after passing Lotus House.

When I reached Kabwe Round about I took a stretch between Great East Road or the Zesco Limited Bridge and Star Motors which young people call pa Toyota Zambia, with Professional Insurance Corporation Zambia (PICZ) on my left.

Then heading east, I passed the Golden Bridge Chinese Hotel, then reached Bwinjimfumu and later passed Northmead, after Manda Hill I was amused that MISA Zambia is now sandwiched by two casino’s – Chinese and noticed life at the construction site for the New Mulungushi Complex.

I did my chore at TopStar, then proceeded to Arcades Shopping Mall and as I passed the two Protea Hotels with East Park Mall on my left I headed south toward NASDEC, Zamsure, ZANACO Sunset Stadium, and noticed that the Barclays Bank Sports ground is now a Sunshare Project a hotel or building with a swimming pool on top.

I was past National National Assembly of Zambia Motel and later saw The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day of Saints, Energy House, then saw Football Association being dwarfed by Chinese infrastructure. Zambia is indeed a China Country now!

I then saw people at Ndeke House job hunting from Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya and his Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Dr. Kennedy Malama.

I passed Chrismar Hotel with Government House and Residence of the Pope’s Vatican Representative to Zambia and the Saudi Embassy or Residence …suspect built on land which once housed former Ugandan President, the late Milton Obote. I then took the President’s Lane with State House on my Left @13hrs, saw ChangeGuard wearing a mask and, I was shocked to be identified at the entrance on Independence Avenue by Alex Fwataki, a ZNBC Kaonde presenter who said: ” How are you comrade? How did you recognize me I ask? I have a shift at 16 hours, Alex Fwataki explained as we parted”.

 

 

In both word and deed, ba Maambo Haamaundu it is how I will title or headline yesterday as Rainbow Newspaper Zambia Limited tour of duty, and dearest Jonathan Mkandawire you are damn right that I am that energetic, and because of digital media I cannot cheat.

 

As you are both aware, since I do not have a gym like Collins Muyenga all security like President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, or indeed a team like Brian Mwale and Paul Shalala whose middle name is ‘ Monde’ as at New Vision we called him Paul Monde’ Shalala, I do not jog to keep in shape but walk like David Livingstone… Next time…I will not even take a bus.

I kept my word and listened to Alex Fwataki on ZNBC Radio 1 Kaonde Section good anchor I must admit in the context of Dr. ECL’s The New Normal, and
day concluded with a family chat with Evans Sinjela and Luswepo as I took a cup of tea made by Exhildah Sokoni and bought ‘jiggies’ snacks for Ms. Comfort Banda-Mulenga, who clocked two years as she was born on Friday 18th May 2018, while New Hope MMD President Dr. Nevers Sekwila Mumba, born on Wednesday 18th May 1960 is now 60 years old. We listened to Hot 87.7 FM, Kwithu FM 93.3FM, Pan African Radio 96.1FM and Real Radio at Namakau House on 103.3FM Thanks www.rainbownewszambia.com
