Rupiah Bwezani Banda extols Fidel Castrol Ruz

Former Fourth Republican President Rupiah Bwezani Banda says Cuba contributed immeasurably to emancipation of Africa through its departed leader, late Fidel Castro Ruz.
Speaking after signing a Book of Condolences at the Cuban Embassy in Lusaka’s Kalundu residential area, Mr. Banda implored global communities to emulate the political and socio-economic philanthropy displayed by the late Cuban revolutionary leader.
Flanked by Cuban Ambassador to Zambian, Malawi and COMESA, Ambassador Caridad Perez Gonzalez, Banda expressed deep hearted compasssion for underprivileged people.
Mr. Banda heralded the Cuban leaders sacrifices within earshot of Zambia-Cuba Friendship Association Acting President, Tentani Mwanzah and Zambian Developmental Media Alliance (ZADEMA) Executive Director Derrick Sinjela and Solomon Msoni, a citizen.
“Cuba has always supported Zambia through the education and provision of doctors. This relationship was nurtured during Zambia’s political liberation struggle that led to attainment of Independence on 24th October 1964,” Mr. Banda said in an apparent reference to late Fidel Castro Ruz support to United National Independence Party (UNIP) Government led by Dr. Kenneth David Buchizya Kaunda.
On his part, Ambassador Gonzalez described the Cuban people as diehard Pan Africanists on account of their African roots.
“We are Africans as .most of the people in Cuba have similarities with the continent,” Ambassador Gonzalez said.
And speaking after signing a book of condolences, Mr. Mwanzah, who is National Democratic Party (NDP) President applauded late Castro as an extraordinary human being. www.rainbownewszambia.com
