Health Minister Sylvia Tembo-Masebo says the Government’s desire is to prioritise job creation through targeted intervention and activities that promote talents and creativity is on course just as is a vow to reduce health practitioner and facility fees.
In a speech read by Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary In-charge of Technical Services Dr. George Sinyangwe a Tuesday, 15th May, 2023 launch of the HPCZ 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, Ms. Tembo-Masebo’s word that Government is working on instruments to reduce the fees payable by health practitioners, health facilities and training institutions won an immediate applause by the audience witnessed by HPCZ Board Chairperson Professor Mulindi Munahamuntu, HPCZ Executive Director – Registrar Professor Fastone Matthew Goma and Cabinet Office Management Development Division (MDD) Strategic Planning Director Ms. Patricia Chikalanga, representing MDD Permanent Secretary (PS) Ms. Kusobile Kamwambi.
Professor Munahamuntu vowed to continue on a path of protecting individual and collective interests of health practitioners and everyone that is serviced in public and private facilities.
“We continue to ensure that members of the public are protected from unsafe practices in the health profession and those found contravening the Health Professions Act are brought to book,” warned Prof. Mwanahamuntu.
An elated Professor Goma explained that the HPCZ Strategic Plan is premised on three (3) main strategic themes; Operational Excellence, Health Practitioners Proficiency and Health Facility Excellence.
