Zambia is likely to boost her mark as a global hospitality brand out Zesco limited hosting the 19th Congress of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA) themed: “Promoting Emerging Economies in Africa through Sustained Industrial and Energy Development”, from Wednesday 12th July to Friday 14th July, 2017 in Livingstone, Southern Province.

hopes delegates led by outgoing Association President Engineer Antonio Fernandes Rodriques Belsa Costa will have the opportunity to visit one over 150 waterfalls located throughout Zambia’s ten provinces, reports Pan African Radio Journalist, Hermit Hachilonde.
Engineer Mundende will run APUA, founded in 1970 for the next three years as continental president, at the tri-annual event being hosted in Zambia’s tourist town of Livingstone, named after a British explorer.
For two years, from 1970 till 1972, APUA was known as the Union of Producers, Transporters and Distributors of Electric Power in Africa (UPDEA).
In 2012, APUA with54 active members and 16 affiliated global memberships launched a five year strategic action plan meant to rejuvenate provision of sustainable electric power on the African continent.
On his part, APUA Director General Engineer Abel Didier Tella says the continental energy brand is spearheading creation of the African network of Centres of Excellence in Electricity (ANCEE).
Energy Minister David Mabumba, currently serving as Patriotic Front (PF) Mwense Member of Parliament (MP) is pleased that Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre is the first electric personnel capacity building Centre to qualify.
