The African Guarantee Fund (AGF) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) under the auspices of the Zambia Green Jobs Programme will host the Green Finance Conference which will be held on 2 March 2017 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia.

This event will provide an important platform to discuss the funding of climate change mitigation and adaptation, climate conscious investments, the risk climate change poses to a financial institution’s portfolio, and the potential for climate change regulation to spur the development of new products and services for individuals and SMEs.

The conference convened byMr. Felix A. Bikpo Chief Executive Officer, African Guarantee Fund, Nairobi, Kenya and Ms. Dorothy Tembo, Deputy Executive Director, International Trade Centre, Geneva, Switzerland will be attended by senior representatives from government, the private sector, the financial sector, and development partners.

As a key player in the financial sector in Zambia, we wish to have you participate in one of the panels as per attached conference programme.

In addition, we would request relevant staff of your bank to participate free of charge in two trainings that we are organising to bring up to speed bank staffs regarding the environmental and social risks in lending and investment projects and the opportunities in adopting green finance practices.

The first is the introductory training to be held on 3 March at Radisson Blu, Lusaka in the morning for Directors/Heads for SMEs, corporate, Business Development, and Credit and in the afternoon for Managers/Senior Officers concerned with Green Energy Financing and SMEs lending.

The 2nd one is a Lab Workshop scheduled on 6-7 March at Protea Safari Hotel, Chisamba for Managers/Senior Officers concerned with Green Energy Financing and SMEs lending.

The Conference and Training programmes are convened by greenfinance@intracen.org  and Event Manager at 095 490 35 85.
