PRESS RELEASE December 4, 2020 Zambian companies mint awards at international conference for continuous work improvementsFIVE Zambian institutions have won Platinum prizes for their work improvement projects at the just ended 5thInternationalConventiononQualityControlCircles(ICQCC) held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Dakar, Bangladesh.The international Convention on Quality Control Circle awarded the top prize toZESCO Limited,Hitachi Construction Company (Z) Limited,Lusaka’s KanyamaLevel One Hospital,Lusaka Water and Sanitation Company,and Strongpak Limitedfor implementing various projects aimed at promoting, quality safety and efficiency at their work places.The five companies participated in the Convention virtually from Lusaka and submitted their projects for assessment by the ICQCC panel of judges on December 3.This is the third time the Zambian teams have participated and competed for awards at the ICQCC which is an international premier event for work improvement projectsto pitch their projects to international Assessors.The five companies have during the past few years been implementing quality improvement projects with guidance from the KAIZEN institute of Zambia Limited (KiZ).And speaking to representatives from the five companies at Hitachi Construction Company (Z) Limited in Lusaka yesterday, KAIZEN Institute of Zambia Limited Consultant Sara Shawa praised the Zambian teams for their achievement and commitment to promoting quality improvement.Ms. Shawa called on more Zambian companies to work with KAIZEN Institute of Zambia Limited to implement continuous improvement projects and thanked Hitachi Zambia Limited for hosting the Zambian companies’ virtual participation in the IQCC. Zambia has now joined the international league of nations promoting excellence in the way work is done to enhance her global competitiveness.
