In an effort to be build inclusiveness and continuing with the tradition of attracting world class entertainers Lafarge Zambia has become the latest addition to the growing list of companies partnering with Stanbic Bank Zambia for the sponsorship of the 2017 Stanbic bank Festival , that will run from 22 to 23,2017.

Stanbic Chief Executive Officer Charles Mwanyara Mudiwa is overjoyed that the music corporate world is has responded well in supporting the renowned American rhythm and Blues (R&B ) band Boyz II Men,  who will share the same stage with local artists.

Mr. Mudiwa  was speaking moments ahead of a Lafarge Zambia Chief Executive Vincent Bouckaert K350,000 cheque presentation to consolidate  sponsorship of the Stanbic Bank  Boys II Men music festival.

Charles Mudiwa who was represented by Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Hellen Lubamba said that their vision is to create a legendary event platform that will present a unique artistic event that contributes the Zambian culture and local tourism.

“We have been in Zambia for over 60 years and we have been part of the country’s growth story, as part of our communities and investment in Zambia,  focused towards uplifting local communities through sponsorship of arts and culture. I believe together with Lafarge, we share the common vision of not just driving the economic development of the country,”Mudiwa explained. 

The delighted Vincent Bouckaert announced that Lafarge Zambia the partnership demonstrates how Lafarge is committed to promoting art and culture in the country.

“ Lafarge Zambia is happy to be part of this event as a our pillars of sustainability policy , health, Education, Environment and art and culture,” observed an optimistic Bouckaert.

Among the renowned local musicians that will share the same stage BoyzII Men at this year’s music festival is Afro soul singer Wezi, referred to as Wezi heart Sound , Traditional folk singer Mumba Yachi , Hip Hop sensation Chef 187, and Gospel RnB sensation Abel Chungu Musuka.

Mr. Vincent BOUCKAERT Joined Lafarge Zambia effective 1st September 2016. He previously held the position of CEO Indian Ocean Cluster (comprising Reunion, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mayotte/Comoro Islands, Seychelles and Maldives). Mr. Bouckaert began his career in the consultancy sector. In 1994, working as a Senior Auditor, he joined Arthur Andersen- France. In 1997 he joined Holcim France as Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and in 1998 moved to Holcim Madagascar as CFO. In 2000 he was appointed CFO of Holcim Lebanon and in 2005 became CEO of that company. He was then appointed CEO of legacy Holcim Indian Ocean Cluster in 2010. Mr. Bouckaert is a French national and he completed graduate studies in Engineering and Economics at Centrale Lille, France.

appointment, Mudiwa was Chief Executive of Standard Bank Malawi from 2007. His past directorships include Standard Bank Insurance Brokers, Eduloan Limited, as well as Agri Bank. He holds an Economics Degree from the University of Zimbabwe. Mudiwa’s previous positions in the Standard Bank Group over the past decade include Executive Director for Retail Banking and Operations at Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe. In South Africa he was Director in charge of Standard Bank’s mass market banking.
