I later on served as Minister of Labour and Social Security, Government Republic of Zambia between 1999 to 2001.

In 2001, The Forum for Democracy and Development- FDD was formed, where I served as the party’s secretary-general and vice-president before I was elected party president in 2005, making me the first woman in Zambia to achieve such feat.

I believe the presidency is not about voting male or female but it should be about voting for the best person for the job.
