ZAMBIA National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Corporate and Creative Affairs Manager Masuzyo Ndhlovu has hailed hilarious broadcaster, the late Chileshe Kanyanja.

Mr. Ndhlovu told mourners, who included Public Service Commission Chairperson Dickson Chasaya, Patriotic Front (PF) Deputy Secretary General (DSG), Ms. Mumbi Phiri, PF Deputy Spokesperson, Father Frank Bwalya and Zambia Union of Broadcasting (ZUBID), President, Chomba Yumbe, that late 37-year-old Chileshe Kanyanja’s exploits as a Bemba Section ZNBC Radio 1 Kitwe, ‘Ilyashi Yapano Sonde’ producer, who died at Lusaka’s University Teaching Hospital (UTH), on Sunday, 24th December 2017 were a mark of brilliance.

During burial rites anchored by Simon Mwila at Lusaka’s Leopards Memorial Park, punctuated by Eastern Province ‘Traditional cousin’s led by Tom Njovu, mocking Northern Province peers. Ndhlovu described late Kanyanja, hailing from Mwangata Village, Paramount Chief Chitimukulu, Kasama District, Northern Province, as a humorous individual, who earned recognition.

Said Ndhlovu: “The late Chileshe Kanyanja was born on Thursday 27th November 1980 and joined ZNBC, on Monday 4th June 2007 quickly got promoted as a producer after joining as a continuity announcer”.

On his part, ZUBID President, Mr. Yumbe implored ZNBC as employers to take good care of Kanyanja’s surviving daughter.

“As all may be aware, our colleague, late Kanyanja is survived by a daughter, thus it is prudent for ZNBC as employers to take good care of the child and family,” said Yumbe.

A humorous Mr. Njovu taunted Bemba’s who included Mr. Chasaya for failing to raise sufficient resources.

“I am very disappointed with you Bemba’s. Surely, with Mr. Chasaya being present, all you have contributed is just above K1,217. Just wait for our funeral. This here will be just a kindergarten experience”.

Family Representative Simon Mwila expressed gratitude over contribution.
